Thank you for the sound business development advice you delivered for The Moot House Restaurant in Fort Collins, Colorado. I like your approach. You have an extremely insightful, intuitive and unique perspective to help our business improve customer relationships and get better exposure in the marketplace.
In particular, I really appreciated your observations on our websites. Your suggestions were in layman's terms and represented the guest's perspective, not a web designer. We discussed how to modify our sites to be more easily found on the Internet, effective use of popular keyword phrases, how to identify guest search habits and the need to add more content to attract visitors. You pointed out how to improve Austin's website pages to maximize directions to each location and how to look at the site from the out of town guest's perspective.
You also made recommendations on a shopping cart system to provide gift certificates and gift cards for purchase online, one of our most popular offerings. You pointed out the pro's and con's of our ability to take more control of our websites by purchasing the software to do it ourselves. Since you learned how to develop your own websites, have taken numerous pages to the top of Google in less than two weeks without paying a fee and you're not a tekkie, it gives me great confidence that we can follow your lead!
Ultimately your advice helps me, as Managing Partner, achieve our overall goals to continue a long-standing tradition of exceptional service and great food in a beautiful environment. The Moot House is almost an historical insitution in Fort Collins, having been there since 1972. It is locally owned and operated by Steve Taylor and Scott McCarthy of Front Range Restaurant Management Inc. It's not a chain restaurant. We want prospective guests to understand what we're all about, which is to provide a fine dining experience in a quiet, friendly, cozy atmosphere with historic English Tudor style decor.
We also want our guests to share the tradition with family, friends and business colleagues. One couple has come for dinner every Christmas Eve for 15 years with their entire family. Another has come in almost every day for the last 15-20 years. She has her white wine spritzers each evening like clockwork. Everyone knows her and we even keep her own private glass waiting for her behind the bar. When we ask about their dining experience, our guests consistently say, "Great! As usual!" We want to maintain that reputation and spread the word even more!
Laura, your recommendations will have a significant impact on our ability to share the Moot House tradition with increasing numbers of valued guests in the future. Thank you again for all your help!
