Presentation Skills Training, Knowledge Transfer and Train the Trainer Testimonials

In July 2006, Laura Benjamin conducted Public Presentation Skills Train the Trainer and Knowledge Transfer Training for the United States Air Force 4 SVS/SVFLat Seymour Johnson AFB. Participant testimonials include:

Laura, I want to thank you for the three superb days of training you offered us here at Seymour Johnson AFB. Your perspectives were right on target. Our attendees face numerous challenges daily and your keen insights were invaluable for our future. Your sessions created the right atmosphere to "open a lot of eyes" on how important training plays in our daily duties and responsibilities. I sincerely appreciate you sharing your insights into the similar challenges you have faced along your journey.

Ms. Benjamin:

When I received notification to attend your seminar I was not thrilled. With the minimum manning, multiple duties, and excess workload I felt an entire day out of the office was not beneficial. After my arrival, I noticed the neatly placed handouts with the American flag as the cover page, you welcomed people upon arrival, and even engaged in conversation asking individuals what are expectations for the day. You bought me with your first impression. This demonstrated your competence, pride in your work, and most importantly feedback to better train your audience. This was an excellent seminar. You displayed captivating introductions, informative slides, smooth transitions, scholarly data, and interesting stories. Ms. Benjamin your work is superb. I was impressed from arrival and departure. I know with your dedication, professionalism, and desire to see others grow in knowledge the only outcome is excellent. Keep up the good work. I had a blast!!!

Hi, Laura! I really enjoyed your Train the Trainer & Knowledge Transfer Program you conducted at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. I was wondering if there was ANY way you could email me the directions for the Painter’s Cup activity. I am training staff at the Child Development Center that work with a group of new 2-year-olds. During an observation, I witnessed staff just telling the children what to do to clean up after a meal. I want to use your Painter’s Cup activity to hit home with them how important it is to assist children in their learning! So, as you see, I could really use your help in getting this!!!!!
Thanks! Lynn Lepley, Training & Curriculum Specialist

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
It worked like a charm!! They “got” it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We talked about how one offered on the third attempt, “Would you like my help?” and how appropriate it is to ask children if we can help them instead of just jumping in and doing it for them anyway because it’s easier and faster for us. I think that is an activity that they will remember each time when they just tell a child how to do something and they get that confused look.

I have been a Training and Curriculum Specialist for 5 years now, and I have never attended a train-the-trainer session like yours. You took knowledge that I already had and organized it in a way that is more useful to me. Ideas you gave me that will become part of my own practices are the index card idea for activities, etc., and the appendices on the back of handouts. Thanks to adding to my collection!

Dear Laura, I enjoyed the training. It was very different from what I have experienced in the past. Usually it is "the customer is always right" but you showed a different way of looking at each situation so we can treat and understand the customer better. Thanks again for the training.
