Not a tekkie? That's okay - I wasn't either. Hi, I'm Laura Benjamin and I coach people on how to understand the world of search engine strategies, RSS feeds, Internet marketing, podcasts, websites and blogs.
Basically, I help people learn the basics of online communication so they can decide whether to hire a website designer, pay a tekkie teenager, or learn how to do it themselves. Perhaps they want to build a blog (what IS a blog anyway?) so they can publish to attract clients or the media, or they want to create an online newsletter to build their business.
They definitely DON'T want to waste money or time on expensive pay-per-click gimmicks or end up saying to themselves, "I wish I'd known that sooner..."
I've learned from experience. I built my first website using Microsoft FrontPage in 2001, then graduated up to Dreamweaver, which is what I used to author the site you're "standing in" right now. I'm good at communicating complicated information in a very simple, straightforward way.
And my goal is to help others learn how to do it themselves or make better choices if they DO hire someone else to do it for them. I enjoy teaching people "how to fish" and I'm not interested in locking them in to long term contracts or nickel and dime arrangements.
